How we collect, use and share your personal data, in line with Uganda's Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019.
Who we are
Capital & Context operates https://www.capitalandcontext.com, a financial information and comparison service. We are the data controller for personal data collected through this website. Contact: hello@capitalandcontext.com.
What we collect
- Details you give us when you ask to be matched: your name, mobile number, email (optional), town or district, the product you're interested in, approximate amount, timeline and any notes.
- Proof of consent: the wording you agreed to and when.
- Technical data: browser type and the page or campaign that brought you to us.
We do not ask for your national ID, bank details or passwords, and calculators run in your browser without storing what you type.
Why we use it
- To pass your request to up to three licensed financial service providers relevant to it, only with your consent.
- To check requests are genuine and prevent spam.
- To understand which pages are useful so we can improve the site.
Who we share it with
Only providers licensed in Uganda by the relevant regulator (Bank of Uganda, Capital Markets Authority or Insurance Regulatory Authority) that offer the product you asked about, and service providers that host our systems under contract. We may be paid by those providers. We never sell your data to anyone else.
How long we keep it
We keep lead records for up to 24 months, then delete or anonymise them, unless the law requires otherwise.
Your rights
You can ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it, or withdraw your consent and have it deleted, by emailing hello@capitalandcontext.com. Withdrawing consent stops future sharing; providers who already received your details will need to be contacted too, and we will tell them. You can also complain to the Personal Data Protection Office.
