No. Past returns are not guaranteed, and money market fund yields move with interest rates. The yield shown is what the fund earned recently, as its manager published it.

It is what the fund would earn over a year if today's rate held and the returns stayed in the fund. Managers publish it so funds can be compared like for like.

Bank deposits are protected up to UGX 10,000,000 per person per bank by the Deposit Protection Fund, and SACCOs licensed by the Bank of Uganda are now covered too. Treasury bills and bonds are loans to the Government of Uganda. Unit trusts are not covered by deposit protection; your money is held by a separate custodian and the manager is supervised by the Capital Markets Authority. Official sources for each.
